Keith Garrett
lead and baritone vocals, mandolin

Keith's rich, soulful vocals, coupled with his mandolin, guitar and songwriting talents are a true asset to Blue Moon Rising. He's becoming known as having one of the best voices in bluegrass music today.  The band has recorded a number of Keith's original songs including, Far Away From Home, Jeffrey's Hell and Moonshine Hard Times.  He's co-written other tunes on the band's albums including the instrumental fan favorite Sling Blade with Justin Jenkins and Mountain Boy co-written with his Dad, William Garrett.  Keith also provides lead vocals for two songs on the solo album, Dusty Roads by bandmate Justin Moses. At the age of 13, Keith's Dad, William Garrett taught him to play guitar and he later began playing the mandolin. Influences include the music of Bill Monroe, The Stanley Brothers, and Tony Rice.  Keith previously performed with bands before becoming one of the founding members of Blue Moon Rising in 2000.
