| 02.02.2007 - BMR News Hello friends and a belated Happy New Year to all! We’re just in off the road from visiting all our friends in North Dakota and having the bluegrass “time of our lives.” We played two shows at Bismarck State College, held instrument, vocal, and songwriting workshops, and had the privilege of spreading our music to the Standing Rock Indian Reservation High School. There were some really talented young men and women at the high school and Jill and Bob Wiese (our North Dakota friends and promoters) arranged for the donation of a whole bunch of new guitars, basses, and amps for the music class. We had an amazing time and would like to thank everyone for their wonderful hospitality and for making it possible to play for you again this year. Jill, thanks for working so hard to put this weekend together again and Bob, as usual, you’re the best sound man we’ve ever had the supreme privilege of playing for. We miss you already and can’t wait to come back next year! We started off the New Year by playing a show at the beautifully renovated Tennessee Theater in Knoxville with Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver and Robinella. The show was awesome and the Tennessee Theater, whether you’re picking or listening, is an amazing theater. We also got to play a special Saturday edition of the famed Blue Plate Special earlier that day on everybody’s favorite grassroots radio station, WDVX! We were blown away and grateful to see the huge crowd packed into that little place and were proud to be featured on the Blue Plate. Next week, February 8th to be exact, we head into Lonesome Day Studios in Booneville, Kentucky, to start recording our fourth album (second for Lonesome Day) and are busting at the seams to get in and lay down some great new material. We can’t wait for you to hear it and we feel it’s going to be some of our strongest material to date. Just wait till you hear Keith sing his original song “Angeline!” We would like to welcome aboard a brand new sponsor for the band, FineCases.com. FineCases.com can provide any case imaginable for any instrument imaginable and plenty of electronics and accessories as well. East Tennessee native Frank Estes in a short amount of time has established one of the finest on-line music companies anywhere and we’re proud to be associated with him. Check him out as well as his full line of merchandise at www.finecases.com. We‘ve got a great year lined up for 2007 and hope to see each and everyone‘s smiling faces this spring, summer, and fall at your favorite bluegrass festival or indoor venue. We’ll be in California, Wisconsin, Colorado, Arizona, and Florida just to name a few. Be sure to stop by the newest addition to our website, The Chris West Action Adventure Page, to see pictures taken of some of Chris’s most daring adventures fighting E-Vil and saving the world from E-Vil Doers! Hope you enjoy and please feel free to submit your own pictures of daring Chris West adventures to our webmaster, Justin Moses, and he may just post them on the site! Well, that’s about it for now, but please remember to support our fine sponsors GHS Strings, Intellitouch Tuners, Chota Outfitters, Colorado Case Company, Edmonds Guitars, and FineCases.com. Also, special thanks to our booking agent, Penni McDaniel, at Hope River Entertainment, and our fan club president, Kelly Paul, for all that the hard work they do for us. Please remember to visit our page at CMT.com and sign our message board. The more message board traffic we get on that page, the longer we get to keep it. We also have our own page now at Myspace.com at www.myspace.com/bluemoonrising. Be sure to stop by there and be our friend! God bless, be safe and have a wonderful 2007! Sincerely, BMR |
