Hello to all our friends!  Well, the New Year is here and we’ve been busy on the road promoting our new Lonesome Day Records release “On the Rise.”  A lot of wonderful things happened for us in 2005 and we’re looking forward to a busy and exciting 2006.  We’re thrilled to say that after five years of booking ourselves and doing our own promotion and publicity, we are now represented exclusively by Hope River Entertainment and Penni McDaniel has worked her magic to line up a very eventful year for us so far.

We traveled back to North Dakota to start the year off with a bang!  What’s that you say?  North Dakota in January!?!  Well the weather outside was not all that frightful and besides, it takes more than subzero temperatures and threats of blizzards to scare us off!  We started off by playing at Washburn High School at an 8:30 a.m. concert for the kids and then making a short trip over to the local hospital where we played for some very sick folks who were very glad to hear and meet with us if only for a short while.  We were truly humbled and at the same time thrilled to get to be a small part of their lives.  We were joined on the trip by Meagan Lynch (on fiddle) of the band 3 Fox Drive as Justin Moses had a prior commitment.  Meagan did a fantastic job as always and it was fun to get to play some music with her again.  The next day, we had a full slate of workshops lined up for us at the venue, Bismarck State University.  Everyone participated in one of five different instrument workshops taught by one of the band members, as well as a songwriting and harmony singing workshop taught by all of us at the same time.  We then got all of the individual classes together to perform the song “This Old Martin Box.”  Later that night, we performed for a completely SOLD OUT crowd and had the time of our lives.  We would like to thank the Weiss Family (Jill, Bob, Alshley, and Kayla) and Elvie Andrus for all their hard work, hospitality, and for treating us like part of their family.

We are finally on the Bluegrass Unlimited Charts and have been climbing!  We debuted in January with “This Old Martin Box” at number 29, moved to number 21 in February, and are currently at number 16 on the Top 30 Singles Chart while the entire album debuted on the Top 15 Bluegrass Albums Chart for the month of March.  We can’t thank each and every one of you enough for buying our albums and calling in to request our music on the radio.  Be sure to request “This Old Martin Box” and let’s see if we can get it in the Top 10 next month!  Also, please be sure to drop us a message at our page on CMT.com!  The more messages we get, the longer we’ll have a page there.

For those of you that have Sirius Satellite Radio, look for a special “Blue Moon Rising Live at the Station Inn” concert that was recorded in February.  We’re not sure yet as to when it will air, but we’ll keep you posted.  Special thanks to Terry Herd for making this possible!

Well, that’s about it for now, but please remember to support our fine sponsors GHS Strings, Intellitouch Tuners, Chota Outfitters, Colorado Case Company, Edmonds Guitars.  We guarantee that you’ll be satisfied with the quality products that only these fine companies can provide!  God bless and be safe until we meet again somewhere down the road!

Sincerely,
BMR
