Howdy folks.  It's been awhile since our last update, but we're back to tell you a little bit about what's been going on with BMR.  We would like to start out by welcoming our newest sponsor, OnBoard Research Corporation.  OnBoard Research Corporation has designed and produces the Intellitouch Tuner which BMR uses exclusively on the road and in the studio because we feel that they're the very best that money can buy in an onboard digital tuner.  The Intellitouch provides convenience and portability by simply clipping onto the headstock of your instrument; therefore, you can leave the Intellitouch clipped onto your instrument the entire time you're playing it and it never gets in the way.  The Intellitouch comes equipped with a backlit digital display and these tuners are SUPER accurate!  If you haven't tried the Intellitouch Tuner by OnBoard Research Corporation, you don't know what you're missing!  For more information on Intellitouch Tuners, visit www.tuners.com.

We started out the month of January by taking a little trip down to Suwanne, GA, to visit all our friends at "Everett's Music Barn."  We always have a good time and play to a wonderful crowd at Everett's and this time was no exception.  We also had the supreme pleasure of again meeting with Mr. Harmon Dan Bell, master Luthier and maker of Bell Mandolins.  We would like to thank Mr. Bell and his family for inviting us into their home for a delicious home-cooked meal, some great fellowship, and the opportunity to play some beautiful hand-crafted mandolins.  Folks, if you happen to be in the market for a top-notch, hand-crafted mandolin at a very affordable price, you just can't go wrong with a Bell!  You can reach Mr. Bell for more information on his mandolins at (770) 945-2223.

February kicked off in Knoxville, TN, at the "Health, Hope, and Bluegrass" fundraiser for the American Cancer society and the Second Harvest Food Bank.  We joined our good friends Freddy Smith, Red Hickey, and Mike Kelly from WDVX radio to raise some much needed money for two very worthy causes.  In the end, over $4000.00 was raised and divided between the two charity organizations!  February 12th found us playing in lovely Tawas City, MI, on Lake Huron.  What a beautiful place filled with so many wonderful bluegrass fans!  We had a terrific crowd that night in Tawas City for the "Corsair Concert Series" and look forward to going back real soon.  We plan to make our second trip to Michigan on July 23rd and 24th when we play the "Hiawatha Traditional Music Festival" at Marquette Tourist Park, Marquette, MI.  Our last show in February found us playing in Justin Jenkins country, the Bluegrass state of Kentucky!  February 26th was our first ever appearance at "Meadow Green Music Hall" in Clay city, KY.  We had a great show and a great crowd that night with our special guest and fellow Lonesome Day artist, Darrell Webb from the band Wildfire.  Darrell joined us on stage to perform several cuts from his outstanding new solo CD on Lonesome Day Records, "Behind the Scenes."  For more information on Darrell's new CD, visit www.lonesomeday.com.

We just came back home from our second trip to Arizona at the "Bluegrass on the River" festival located in LaPaz County Park, Parker, AZ.  We really appreciate Larry and Sondra Baker for their hospitality and for putting on such a terrific festival every year.  We had a blast as usual!  If you've never attended this festival folks, we highly recommend it as they have an awesome sound system, an awesome sound man and crew, terrific bands every single year, and one of the cleanest and most beautiful places in the world to have a bluegrass festival.

Our new CD on Lonesome Day Records should be out and ready to hit the shelves of your local record store by the end of April.  We're very proud of this CD and can't wait for you to hear it.  We'll have 13 brand new songs that were engineered and produced by none other than master fiddler and banjo player Ronnie Stewart.  Ronnie also appears as a guest musician on the project playing fiddle along with fellow Lonesome Day artist Randy Kohrs who makes a guest appearance playing dobro.  Look for our first single "Papaw Taught Me," written by Tim Tipton, on the March edition of Prime Cuts of Bluegrass.  Be sure to call in to your local bluegrass radio stations to request "Papaw Taught Me" by Blue Moon Rising!  Well that's about all for now, so God bless and be safe until we meet again somewhere down the road!
