| 11.09.2006 - Happy Holidays! Hello to all our friends and fans! We would like to take just a moment to give you some news from the road and tell you a little about where we’ve been, where we’re going, and some very exciting things that are going on. After a total of 10 months, “This Old Martin Box,” written by Dave Carroll, is still on the Bluegrass Unlimited Top 30 Bluegrass Singles Chart at #12 after peaking at #3. We can’t thank everyone enough for calling in to your local radio and satellite radio stations to request our music and for buying our albums. Special thanks also to all our online fans who tune us in via the World Wide Web. We plan on going into the Lonesome Day Records studio during the winter months to work on our fourth CD. We have a lot of great new material and can’t wait to get it recorded so you can hear it! The 2006 IBMA World of Bluegrass event was a hoot this year as we were nominated for Emerging Artist of the Year. Although we didn’t walk away with the award this time, it truly felt wonderful to be recognized among some of the greatest bluegrass artists in the world and it was really cool to see our picture on the big screen and hear a snippet of “This Old Martin Box.” We would like to take a moment to congratulate the Steep Canyon Rangers on their Emerging Artist of the Year win. They’re a great band and a great bunch of guys! The next morning, we played a set during FanFest and it was an awesome experience. Special thanks also to all the wonderful hosts who invited us to showcase in the after hours showcases and thanks to our good buddies from the band 3rd String, Ashley, Kayla, Jess, Cassie, Stuart, and Vic for showing up and supporting us during these showcases. Special thanks to our good friend Leanne at Grandma’s Homestead in Wilmot, OH, for the wonderful hospitality at our show last week. We highly recommend the great food, atmosphere, and service at Grandma’s Homestead and we encourage you to check it out if you’re ever in the area. Great to see our friends Gary, and John and Paula Breedlove at the show and we look forward to seeing you again soon. We’re getting ready to hit the road for York and Mt. Holly, PA, this weekend and then we’re going to be performing at the Palace Theater in Maryville, TN, December 2nd. After that it’s up to Bluefield, WV, to perform at the Big Top Bluegrass Concert and hopefully run into our buddies in 3rd String. January takes us back to Bismarck, ND, and we can’t wait to see all our friends up there again. Be sure to stop by the newest addition to our website, The Chris West Action Adventure Page, to see pictures taken of some of Chris’s most daring adventures fighting E-Vil and saving the world from E-Vil Doers! Hope you enjoy and please feel free to submit your own pictures of daring Chris West adventures to our webmaster, Justin Moses, and he may just post them on the site! Well, that’s about it for now, but please remember to support our fine sponsors GHS Strings, Intellitouch Tuners, Chota Outfitters, Colorado Case Company, Edmonds Guitars.
